Process

A coat of oil based poly will take 8-12 hours to cure, and a coat of water-based poly will take around 4-6 hours to dry. If your home is either too hot or too cold (20 to 22 degrees Celsius is the ideal), it could cause the finish to dry incorrectly, which will delay completion of the job.

We recommend that you wait at least 72 hours after the final coat is applied, and then place protective felts under all furniture. Large area rugs need to be kept off the floor for the first 30 days – you can use a breathable perforated rubber pad if you wish to place rugs. We will give you some protective felts for your furniture; the perforated rubber carpet pads are available at most carpet stores.
